It's been a long, long time, but with my Thesis finished and various other real life issues handled, work has started coming along on the second animation. I unfortunately don't have much time to work on it before having to go on a scheduled trip, so it's going to be a little rushed out, but really I need to re-examine whast I want to do aritstically, so now I'm returning to this animation after a dry period in order to wrap up Tom and Jacob's little caper and get this done in like, a couple weeks or something, before using the down time to consider what sort of endeavours I should pursue in the future. 2024 was a year of experimentation, and I fimrly believe I will emerge in 2025 with a serious major project. Here's a picture of the model I'm working on for Jacob, and the revised model I've done for Tom.
The series of animations has now OFFICIALLY started, under the name of Fray. You can now watch the first part on Newgrounds in the crisp Flash Player it was always meant to be in. I have a lot of planning to do before I make any more parts, and I still have to finish my thesis... It'll be a good bit before the next update but rest assured things'll be incredibly legit.
A revision is being made to the animation.
Wow! It's made! I hope you enjoy it, because it'll sort of set the basic scene for a very, very large prokect I plan to start work on soon seeing as I'll be finishing university in a couple of months. I hope it wets your warbler. Until I'm ready to announce anything concrete, this site will be quiet for a bit, but rest assured I will return.
Things have slowed down a whole lot due to very many personal issues, but regular work on this animation has resumed after a short hiatus, here's hoping it'll go smoothly. Since I kept you waiting, here's a preview of what's in the closet, it sure ain't pretty:
Albeit slowly, progress has been made over the past month, and I've passed the thirty second mark:
The animation as a whole will probably be one minute or so, so this is near halfway. If I weren't devoting so much time to working on my thesis for university, I'd probably have finished the full thing by now, but ah well. I'm thinking that I want my projects to be focused more precisely on Tom and the world I might create for him, thus I've decided to fully abandon the idea of making a fully animated version of Kerfuffle since it really wouldn't have been that interesting of a story. For now, keep on wondering about Tom and what might be behind that closet of his...
I've started off using an old program, Adobe Flash CS3, and have started work on an animation of my skunk character, Tom:
Pretty neat, huh? I was inspired by old cutout animation (most particularly Yuri Norstein although there's a much higher level of detail in those works) and figured it'd be best to use an older program since I know someone who still animates with it, and he helped me out with the learning process. This blog will be much more sporadic than the last one, I think I'll only post once or twice a month, since this sort of work takes a lot of time and I'm still dedicating most of my time to my thesis research. I hope you enjoy this little tidbit at least!
